June 2005 edition of BBC Wildlife Our article on the Pale-winged Trumpeters of Manu National Park, Peru, has been published in the June 2005 edition of BBC Wildlife Magazine. It includes a selection of photographs taken during our visits to Cocha Cashu Biological Station in 2001 and 2004, a brief appraisal of our findings, and a host of interesting snippets about trumpeters. These terrestrial crane-like birds are one of the Amazon rainforest's most bizarre and fabulous creatures, revered by tribesmen and travellers alike, and famed for their strange nocturnal choruses and matriarchal societies.
